About Our Club

Founded on September 1, 2007, by Angela and Mark Hanlin, Calhoun County Corvettes began with a small group of Corvette enthusiasts from the Marshall, Battle Creek, and Lansing areas. As the 548th Corvette Club to join the National Council of Corvette Clubs, it started with seventeen Charter Members and one Social Member. By 2025, the club has grown to over 50 active members, including some of the original founders.

The club was officially named “Calhoun County Corvettes of Marshall, MI,” with Larry Karlo designing the club logo. The logo features the colors red, white, and blue, symbolizing the patriotic spirit and the “winding roads” representing the journeys taken by its members. The checkered flag in the design signifies the competitive spirit of the group.

Angela’s vision brought together Corvette owners who enjoy driving together, participating in region events, and attending national gatherings. While Angela is humble about her role, she is the club’s founder and the driving force behind its creation. Her efforts, along with the help of many others, have established a vibrant and active community.

The club supports and participates with other NCCC clubs in Michigan and attends national events like the NCCC National Convention, Bloomington Gold, Carlisle, and Mid-America Funfest. Many members are also involved with the National Corvette Museum and participate in its annual events and caravans.

Calhoun County Corvettes organizes and attends numerous events each year, including fundraisers for charities such as the Fountain Clinic of Marshall and St. Jude in Memphis, TN. The club’s mission is to donate all proceeds, aside from essential operating costs, to these chosen charities. Additionally, the club welcomes new members and Corvette owners looking to join or switch clubs.

Calhoun County Corvettes recently hosted our 7-IN-1 Corvette Show with an excellent turnout  – 24 Corvettes on site and 20 entered for judging. The event was filled with camaraderie, beautiful cars, and participation from both club members and friends from nearby Corvette clubs.

At the 2024 Best of the Bowties show held at Gilmore Car Museum, we’re thrilled to announce that out of 400 Corvettes, the Karlo’s won the C-5 category and the Chupp’s won the C-7 category. Congrats to Karina and Herb on their first win with Calhoun County Corvettes!
